8. Monitoring

8.1.

MONITORING

Monitoring is an important part of the Local Plan process. Its primary purpose is to ensure the effective implementation of the Plan’s policies so that sustainable planning policy translates to sustainable development on the ground.

8.2.

The Council will monitor the policies contained within this Plan through its Annual Monitoring Report, as required by the 2004 Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act. Where monitoring indicates that it is necessary, policies within the Plan will be reviewed. Any amendment to or replacement of policy will then be brought forward through the Local Development Framework thus reflecting the concept of “Plan, Monitor, and Manage”.
